There are no records of protected species occurring in the vicinity of Handy Cross junction. No SSSI's or Sites of Interest for Nature Conservation exist within 1km of the junction. The Buckinghamshire Environmental Records Office have identified 1 County Wildlife Site and 6 Biological Notification Sites in the area, however, none are likely to be impacted by the proposed scheme because of their relative distances from it The main impacts of the scheme would be the direct loss of woodland, grassland and arable land with indirect effects from noise, dust and light pollution. There would be a neutral impact on habitat corridors in the landscape. Habitat losses would be replaced and enhanced by the provision of landscape planting. |
